HMB Live event series aims to create a space for exchange to deepen the understanding of both contexts as well as highlighting the similar struggles of civil society actors in Poland and Turkey.
CHALLENGING PATRIARCHY WITH THE CROWDS – DECEMBER 8, 2020
In this first event, Hafiza Merkezi Berlin wants to highlight gender struggles and discuss issues such as the recent strikes in Poland fighting for the right to abortions, threats to the Istanbul Convention and the influence of conservatism and right-wing populism on the lives of women in both country contexts.

PROMISE OF JUSTICE & INTERNATIONAL LAW – DECEMBER 10, 2020
In this second event, Hafiza Merkezi Berlin wants to highlight the current threats to the rule of law in both countries, by highlighting the struggle at the level of local and international courts, the impact of increasing nationalism on the legal sphere and potential threats to democracy that ensue with the lack of an independent judiciary.
